This summary outlines a meeting that the Harvey A. Friedman Center for Aging hosted with faculty, staff, and students to discuss how Washington University can strengthen its role in preparing our workforce for an aging society.
With support from the Office of the Provost, faculty from across campus are launching a new course this fall that will help prepare about 50 freshman for our future as an aging society.
The 2014 Summer Research Program in Global Health offered eight students (from undergraduates to medical students) the opportunity to work closely with outstanding faculty mentors focusing on global health.
The Institute for Public Health is welcoming faculty from across Washington University to two events in September.
The Silver Screen Film Series offers free films that explore positive aging themes on Mondays in September.
Currently, the institute’s sole facility is on the Medical Campus, but thanks to alumnus and university trustee Harry Seigle and his wife Susan, the institute soon also will have a home on the Danforth Campus.
