Master of Science in Clinical Investigation

The Master of Science in Clinical Investigation (MSCI) is offered through the Clinical Research Training Center which is part of the Washington University Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences. The Center provides didactic curriculum and mentored training in clinical and translational research for students, house staff, postdoctoral students, fellows and junior faculty.

Senior faculty serve as mentors, role models and teachers to develop future leaders of clinical and translational research.  The program provides high-quality, multidisciplinary training in clinical research to promote the successful career development of clinical investigators. 

In addition to coursework, you will also conduct independent research under the tutelage of a mentorship committee, participate in an ongoing seminar series to present and discuss research as a work-in-progress, take elective coursework related to their research interests, and submit a final thesis - typically a submitted manuscript or grant application
