The complex nature of public health requires more than just collaboration from different disciplines, but new transdisciplinary, evidence-based approaches. The Schools and departments of Washington University offer the follow degrees and and programs in public health:
Master of Health Science (MHS)
Jointly sponsored by the School of Medicine and University College in Arts & Sciences, the MHS degree aims to produce professionals competent in the development of evaluation of health care services.
Master of Psychiatric Epidemiology (MPE)
The Epidemioloy and Prevention Research Group in the Department of Psychiatry at the School of Medicine offers an MPE degree, which will help you hone your epidemiological and research skills within a medical school environment.
Master of Public Health (MPH)
Offered by the Brown School, Washington University's number-one ranked social work school, this MPH degree's innovative curriculum centers around a series of intensive, team-based, problem solving courses designed to prepare you for practice, policy and research roles.
Master of Science in Clinical Investigation (MS)
The Clinical Research Training Center, which is part of the University's Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences, confers and MS in Clinical Investigation. This degreeprovides multi-disciplinary training in clinical reseaerch to promote the successful career development of clinical investigators.
Master of Science in Genetic Epidemiology (GEMS)
The GEMS training program through the Division of Biostatistics at the School of Medicine offers training in genetic epidemiology, statistical and computational genetics, biostatistics, and bioinformatics. To goal is to understand how genetic and envirormental factors interact to produce various diseases and disease-related traits in humans.
Master of Business Administration Concentration: Business of Healthcare
Olin Business School offers an MBA concentration in the Business of Healthcare designed to help develop a new generation of leaders who manage organizations that blend both medical and business practices.
Undergraduate Minor in Public Health
Offered through the Arts & Sciences Department of Anthropology, this interdisiciplinary minor allows students to study health-related issues at both the population and community levels.
