Emergency physician Dr. Chris Carpenter is interested in research involving geriatric emergencies, cognitive dysfunction (dementia), evidence based medicine, and implementation science. He recently served on the American Geriatric Society’s Emergency Medicine Content Expert for Research Agenda Setting Process (2007-2009), and is currently the American College of Emergency Medicine Geriatric Section President-Elect. He is also the Director of Evidence Based Medicine for the WUSM Division of Emergency Medicine, and the Associate Editor of Academic Emergency Medicine and the Annals of Internal Medicine ACP Journal Club. He has worked with Washington University’s Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center to develop effective models of care for dementia patients, and interested in bringing together medical experts in the areas of emergency medicine and geriatrics to develop new models for effective care.
Collaborative Interests
Dr. Carpenter’s collaborative interests include working with other researchers on transitions in care, implementation science, and education in era of social media.
