Outstanding Transdisciplinary Scholar Awardee: Ross Brownson

A leader in the field of evidence-based public health, and an expert in chronic disease prevention and applied epidemiology, Dr. Brownson holds a joint appointment in the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis and the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis (Siteman Cancer Center). He is the co-director of the Prevention Research Center – a major, CDC-funded center jointly led by Washington University and Saint Louis University. He serves on the Faculty Advisory Council for the Institute for Public Health, is associate editor of the Annual Review of Public Health, and leads a large number of other major research and training projects.
