Health Data Bootcamp: Consolidation and corporatization in the U.S. healthcare system

Join the Center for Advancing Health Services, Policy & Economics Research for an exciting opportunity to learn how to use health and social data to impact policy! The event will feature keynote speaker Dr. Dhruv Khullar followed by lightning talks, interactive breakout sessions, and an opportunity to network over lunch.

This is a hybrid event with options to attend in person or virtually via Zoom. Due to limited space, registration is required.

In-person attendance | Directions & parking

For in-person attendees, this event will take place in Seminar Room B at the Eric P. Newman Education Center on the WashU Medical Campus.

The Eric P. Newman Education Center (EPNEC) is located at 320 S Euclid Ave, St. Louis, MO.

Those utilizing public transportation can access EPNEC from the Central West End Metrolink station or transit center (by bus). Use the Metro Trip Planner.

Upon arriving, please utilize levels 6-7 of the Metro Parking Garage located at the corner of Taylor Avenue and Nash Way [formerly Children’s Place]. The garage address is 4560 Nash Way [formerly Children’s Place], St. Louis, MO 63110. Go to level 3 to enter into the pedestrian walkway. Press handicap button to open the door. Turn left into the walkway. Make the first right (past Kaldi’s Coffee). Walk a short distance, and you will enter EPNEC at the 2nd level.

Parking validations for the Metro Parking Garage will be provided for non-WashU and non-BJC attendees only.

Virtual attendance

Virtual attendance will take place via Zoom for the keynote and lightning talks. Breakout sessions will be in person only.

Dhruv Khullar, MD, MPP
Physician and associate professor of health policy and economics
Weill Cornell Medical College

Dr. Khullar is a writer at The New Yorker, where he writes about medicine, health care, and politics. He serves as Director of the Physicians Foundation Center for the Study of Physician Practice and Leadership, and Associate Director of the Cornell Health Policy Center. His research focuses on value-based care, health disparities, and medical innovation, and has been published in JAMA and The New England Journal of Medicine.

Dr. Khullar earned his medical degree at the Yale School of Medicine and completed his medical training at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He also received a Masters in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, where he was a fellow at the Center for Public Leadership. He has been recognized by LinkedIn as a Top Healthcare Professional, by the National Minority Quality Forum as a 40 Under 40 Leader in Health, and by FASPE with the 2019 Distinguished Fellow Award for Ethical Leadership.
