The Center for Community Health Partnership & Research is offering a workshop to guide new community-engaged partnerships in early planning, skill building, and development.
Facilitators will walk participants through the next steps for establishing productive, sustainable, and mutually beneficial community-academic partnerships. Participants will develop skills for collaborative and effective working relationships through a combination of lecture, discussion, and tool/resource identification addressing:
- Communication strategy, including understanding partner needs and asks, planning for frequency, content, methods, and direction of communications
- Co-developing research projects, including applying a health equity lens to current and future work, developing research aims, and evaluating research and engagement in partnership, and planning for co-ownership of data
- Sustainability planning, including budgeting and compensation; and -Moving from early partnership structures to formalized agreements, including conflict resolution.
This workshop builds off information discussed in the fall 2022 Partnership Planning & Development Workshop, including asset mapping, program management, communications, and conflict resolution. Faculty and community partners that attended the fall workshop are encouraged to attend. However, this event is open to any interested community-academic partnership.
