Join us for Pitch Partners: Cancer Research! At Pitch Partners, we bring local university researchers and community together to tackle challenging issues. This is an open call for project ideas that focus on cancer, especially projects that seek to reduce cancer disparities across St. Louis.
Community partners* or university faculty are invited to submit ideas for research projects, program expansions, program evaluations, new interventions, and other projects related to improving cancer equity in the greater St. Louis region. The application period to pitch is now closed.
This Pitch Partners is focused broadly on projects that address disparities in cancer in the St. Louis region. Examples of topics may include, but are not limited to:
- Screening tools and programs
- Support for patients receiving cancer treatment
- New or expanding programs
- New or expanding areas of community-engaged cancer research
- Evaluation of cancer-focused tools, support services, or other programs
How it works
Pitch presentations
Up to five selected individuals and/or teams will present five minute pitch-style presentations. Teams can use a variety of visual media.
Review & feedback
Following each presentation, presenters will hear feedback from a review panel and participate in Q&A with the audience.
Partnership development
The event will end with pitch-specific breakout rooms for networking, sharing insights, and additional input. Often, this is where partnerships start to develop.
Following the event, individuals selected to pitch will be eligible for up to $10,000 in partnership development support. Presenting at the in-person Pitch Partners event does not guarantee a partnership or funding.
Attendance
This event is free to attend and open to all. Dinner and refreshments will be provided. Due to limited space, registration is strongly encouraged.
