Karen Joynt Maddox, MD, MPH, associate professor of medicine in WashU’s Cardiovascular Division, co-director of the Center for Advancing Health Services, Policy & Economics Research, and volunteer chair for the American Heart Association (AHA) is helping announce a presidential advisory from the AHA regarding the prevalence of cardiovascular disease and stroke, conditions which are forecast to rise by the year 2050.
Joynt Maddox is lead author on statements about the future burden of these conditions and is helping the AHA advocate for awareness and ways to minimize the risk of cardiovascular disease.
