August 25, 2016
4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Doll & Hill Room, 600 Taylor Ave, Medical Campus

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) formed a working group in spring 2016 to reassess and update prevention knowledge of obesity and cancer risk. New evidence from this working group, chaired by Dr. Graham Colditz, suggest significant new findings between higher body fat and cancer risk of eight new cancer sites. Dr. Colditz will present the methods, findings, and why prevention is key to reducing cancer risk. His presentation will coincide with a new publication highlighting IARC’s findings and their significance.
