Climate Change and Human Health: Reflections on Research and Remaining Challenges

November 04, 2016
11 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Brauer Hall, Room 12, Danforth Campus

Human health is one of the primary drivers for interest in the environment for the general public and the regulatory community; however, to date, health has played only a small role in discussion of the impacts of climate change. This seminar with Michelle Bell, PhD, Professor of Environmental Health, Yale University, will present research on some of the pathways through which climate change could impact human health such as through increased frequency and severity of heat waves, higher levels of tropospheric ozone pollution, and in-creased levels of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) specifically from forest fires.
