Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College invites students, faculty, staff, and the community to the screening of “Newtown” at the College’s Duncan campus site.
“Newtown” chronicles the aftermath of the deadliest mass shooting of schoolchildren in American history: a shooting that took the lives of 20 elementary school children and 6 educators in Newtown, CT on Dec. 14, 2012.
Filmed over the course of three years, the film weaves together powerful and honest testimonials from parents, teachers, school staff, first responders, and clergy members grappling with the tragedy. Taken together, their stories document a traumatized community whose resilience and sense of purpose is a powerful as its grief.
After the film’s screening, please stay to discuss how health care professionals can work together on this public health priority.
