Call for Proposals

MTM, Inc. is a healthcare and transportation management company whose mission is to partner with our clients in developing innovative solutions for accessing healthcare, increasing independence, and connecting community resources in a cost-effective manner. To achieve this mission, as well as our overarching vision of communities without barriers, we leverage core competencies in managing customer service operations and building provider networks.

MTM, Inc. manages transportation, care coordination activities, call center operations, ambulance claims adjudication, and functional assessments and travel training for state and county governments, Medicaid and Medicare managed care organizations (MCOs), transit agencies, third-party administrators, and healthcare providers. Through careful assessments, comprehensive care coordination, and responsible network development and oversight, we improve member health outcomes while aligning with client goals, reducing program costs, and increasing customer satisfaction.

Through this Call for Proposals we seek to contract with a Washington University investigator(s) to study the link between consistent and reliable transportation of any mode to health outcomes. Specifically, we want to determine if health plan members that regularly use transportation resources available to them under a Medicaid program administered by a large managed care organization experience health outcomes that are different than those who do not use the transportation benefit. While based in the St. Louis area, MTM, Inc. is a national company. In this regard, our intended scope for this Call for Proposal is broad including a national, state, and/or local, and urban and/or rural communities. A national managed care organization has agreed to provide raw data pertaining to member activities and health outcomes for the study.

We will consider project proposals of up to $50,000 including indirect costs, and awards will be made by contract. Interested parties must submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) to by June 19, 2016 for consideration. The LOI should include the following information about the proposed research team:

  • Names and degree qualifications of team
  • Area(s) of expertise of team
  • Short statement about your experience and interest in research related to transportation and health outcomes
  • Primary contact information for team (email and phone)

A conference call will be arranged after the LOI deadline during which MTM, Inc. will provide more information about our area of research interest in transportation and health as well as describe the process for full proposal submission. Please submit any questions to No calls will be accepted.
