Perspective on Medicaid Expansion

Voters will decide in August whether or Medicaid should be expanded in Missouri. According to a study conducted by the Center for Health Economics and Policy, Medicaid expansion could save the state $39 million in the first year and $932 million by 2024.

The Larry J. Shapiro Director of the Institute for Public Health, William “Bill” Powderly, MD and David H. Perlmutter, MD, executive vice chancellor for medical affairs and dean of the School of Medicine, both recently spoke with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch about the issue before voters Aug. 4th.
