WUSTL Joins ACHE Higher Education Network

September 2, 2016

Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) is joining the ACHE Higher Education Network (HEN).

WUSTL has been a long standing supporter of ACHE with many alumni having served as ACHE board chair and in other leadership roles.

“The establishment of a Washington University chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives comes at a great time in the history of Washington University,” said Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton. “As the university continues its trajectory of leadership in the areas of medical education and research, public health and health policy and management, it is crucial that both our current students and the alumni of our previous successful program in health administration have access to one another and opportunities to network and grow.”

Associate Professor, Brown School

Derek S. Brown, Ph.D., has been chosen by WUSTL to be the HEN Program Director. Dr. Brown is Assistant Professor in the WUSTL Brown School of Social Work and Faculty Scholar for the WUSTL Institute for Public Health.

David J. Baltzer, MHA ’81, president of the Missouri Chapter of the ACHE, commented, “Compliments to Chancellor Wrighton and WUSTL on developing this important relationship with a premier professional association for healthcare leaders. I encourage every eligible WUSTL student interested in a healthcare leadership career to join ACHE as a Student Associate member and become active.”
