Hilary Reno is the medical director of the St. Louis County STI/HIV Prevention Training Center, a CDC funded training center that provides clinical training and technical assistance for clinicians and STI programs in sexual health topics and HIV prevention. She is also a fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
Professor Reno’s research focuses on factors that lead to sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in at-risk individuals in order to reduce rates of infection. Her ongoing research includes examining the use of extra-genital testing for Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Chlamydia trachomatis in patients living with HIV, as well as patients that present to her clinic.
She is also interested in the access, care and follow-up for patients seeking care in local emergency departments, and in prevention services such as better testing, counseling, STI education and partner treatment.
