Dr. Luo’s statistical method interests focus on diagnostic tests, change point models and linear mixed effects model, variable/feature selections, and predictive modeling. Dr. Luo’s public health interests are to identify genomic alterations in patients and to build genomic information based prognosticators to better guide patient treatments.

Dr. Luo has expertise in various types of genomic data analysis (microarray, copy number, GWAS and next generation sequencing). She is interested in Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) and has delved into AD markers to elucidate their diagnostic ability and marker-marker relationship. Some current projects include: genetic markers for breast cancer treatment resistance and late relapse; markers that can be targeted to overcome immuno-suppression and improve immunotherapy; genetic markers for gender specific risk of glioblastoma with neurofibromatosis type 1.
