Duana Russell-Thomas is interested in decreasing health disparity and increasing health and racial equity. She focuses on the process by which community partners and health professionals problem-solve, build relationship and create models of care around health promotion. Target populations include the underinsured and minoritized persons. Russell-Thomas' work with the St. Louis community involves topics such as trauma informed care, management of chronic conditions (especially paying attention to social determinants of health), DEI and climate justice.
