Professor Carpenter is interested in public knowledge about Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, and is involved in research to examine what people know about dementia and how best to educate them. He studies similar research questions regarding palliative care and end-of-life care, and also examines family relationships later in life. His teaching focuses on aging, mental health as we age and interdisciplinary geriatric teams.
