Carol Camp Yeakey, PhD

Marshall S. Snow Professor of Arts & Sciences

Dr. Yeakey is the Founding Director of the Center on Urban Research and Public Policy (CURPP) and its Interdisciplinary Program in Urban Studies at Washington University in St. Louis.

Her published research includes urban youth violence as a public health issue as well as the forthcoming co-authored volumes No Place to be Somebody: Urban Youth Marginality and Poverty and Place: Cancer Prevention among Low Income Women of Color.

Her other published research examines under-resourced communities and the social, political, economic and health disparities they face and the often insurmountable odds they must overcome.
