David L. Eisenberg, MD, MPH

Dr. Eisenberg’s clinical practice, research, teaching and advocacy focus on family planning, which includes ensuring all women and men have access to comprehensive reproductive and sexual health education, services, treatments and options.

Dr. Eisenberg has lectured on various women’s health topics such as contraception, abortion, sexually transmitted diseases, maternal mortality and the impact of family planning in the developing world. He is both a principal investigator and collaborator on clinical research studies involving access to and education about contraception, new contraceptive methods, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, and more. His advocacy work focuses on women’s health with special attention to increasing access to comprehensive reproductive health-care services for all women and ensuring access to abortion services.

In addition to his domestic work, Dr. Eisenberg has traveled to many countries, including sub-Saharan Africa, to provide clinical services and teaching focused on the same areas of family planning, sexual and reproductive health along with general obstetrics and gynecology.
