Professor, Psychological & Brain Sciences, Arts & Sciences

Dr. White’s research in the Developmental Neuropsychology Laboratory focuses on cognitive development in children with disorders affecting the brain. The needs of children with sickle cell disease are of particular concern. The general public knows little about this disease, and increased awareness is essential, particularly given health care disparities associated with race. Phenylketonuria is a rare disorder about which few have knowledge and is another focus for Dr. White’s research. Dr. White feels that resources at the grass roots level are needed to advance awareness of these disorders.
