Elizabeth Dodson, PhD, MPH

Research Assistant Professor, Brown School

Dr. Dodson is interested in utilizing evidence-based policy to facilitate healthy decision making, thereby decreasing risk factors for chronic diseases. Sample projects include improving communication with policymakers and examining worksite supports for physical activity. Her research has also focused on the effectiveness of policy to increase physical activity and prevent obesity and diabetes. Dr. Dodson identified several research gaps in the manner in which researchers communicate with those actually making policy, and works to address the challenge of doing so as effectively, clearly and efficiently as possible.
