Childhood diarrhea accounts for significant global morbidity and mortality while also afflicting adults in endemic regions and travelers to low and middle income countries. Dr. Kuhlmann’s lab studies the complex interplay between the host, pathogen, and environment, in an effort to better understand targets for effective vaccine strategies. Understanding who is at risk for severe complications forms a cornerstone in building better prevention strategies for vaccine development.
