Dr. Ahmad’s interests are in medical informatics and dissemination and implementation (D&I) research, with emphasis on methods that allow patient engagement with the electronic medical record as well as cost-effectiveness and quality-improvement research. He is investigating methods to improve patient outcomes across a variety of topics in the pediatric emergency department, with recent efforts focused on sexually transmitted infections, neonates at risk for Herpes Simplex Virus, and emergency information forms for children with special health-care needs.
