Jennie H. Kwon, DO, MSCI

Associate Professor of Medicine, School of Medicine

Jennie Kwon is the Barnes-Jewish Hospital (BJH) Associate Hospital Epidemiologist. In her role, she provides medical direction for policies and procedures in place at BJH to prevent transmission of infections in the hospital. Her clinical work primarily focuses on transplant-related infections, Clostridium difficile infections and infections due to multidrug-resistant organisms (MDRO)

Kwon performs clinical and translational researching focusing on MDRO transmission dynamics and healthcare epidemiology. Her research interests includes the use of novel therapies to prevent and/or elimination gastrointestinal MDRO and C.difficile colonization, and the utilization of surrogate markers of MDRO transmission.

Professor Kwon is a recipient of the 2022 Mid-Career Scholarship Award from the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America. In 2023, Kwon was names head of the Society of Healthcare Epidemiologists of America Research Committee.
