Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology, Chief of Leukemia & Lymphoma service, School of Medicine

Dr. Yang is interested in the rising costs of cancer care and its impact on patients and health systems. In her research, she performs cost effectiveness analyses to evaluate the value of new drugs and determine the best treatment approaches among multiple options. She is a former Health Policy Fellow within the American Society of Clinical Oncology, where she examined whether bundled payments could be applied reasonably within cancer care. She also studied the potential role of clinical pathways as a means to control the costs of care and improve quality. Dr. Yang continues advocacy work through ASCO with a focus on representing the interests of oncologists, allied providers and cancer patients.
