Dr. Baugh collaborates with physicians who study health disparities in relationship to linguistic diversity. His primary subjects are those who do not speak English or speak English with a strong accent. He is interested in the role that linguistic diversity plays in the distribution and effectiveness of health care.

Dr. Baugh’s research is interdisciplinary, drawing extensively upon related work in the fields of anthropology, ethnography, linguistics and sociology. His experimental investigations are tailored to have practical applications whenever possible.
