Kathy Kniepmann, EdM, OTD, MPH

Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy & Neurology

Dr. Kniepmann is an occupational therapist and a Certified Health Education Specialist with clinical experience in a wide range of settings including rehabilitation, psychiatry, home health and college health. Her current work focuses on health promotion, prevention and policy issues for families of people with strokes.

Dr. Kniepmann’s expertise includes health education theory and practice, spirituality, community health policy and advocacy, and media portrayal of disability. She also teaches occupational therapy students about the intersection of culture, identity and community participation. She has a long-standing concern about the special needs of rural communities and other underserved populations.
