Dr. Schechtman has spent several years focused on the impact of wood burning cookstoves on pulmonary health and the toxic emissions and exposures in rural India. His central roles in this project are ensuring that the experimental design will facilitate an unbiased response to the specific aims, and maximizing the integrity with which the research is carried out in the field.

Dr. Schechtman presents periodic lectures focused on a variety of issues in research methodology. He has also spent many years designing, implementing and analyzing the data from community- and school-based interventions focused on a variety of public health issues.
