Dr. Liu has broad interests in biostatistical methodology research, including survival analysis, longitudinal analysis, spline regression methods, with applications to clinical and health services studies. He is particularly interested in the analysis of recurrent event data, medical cost data, and joint models of multi-outcome data. Recently, Dr. Liu has been working on personalized medicine, machine learning, analysis of high-dimensional epigenetics data, and microbiome data analysis. He collaborates with clinicians in various medical fields, including cancer, cardiovascular, addiction, ophthalmology, nephrology, infectious disease, asthma, and diabetes.
