Lora Iannotti’s research focuses on identifying interventions to promote healthy growth and development among young children living in resource-poor countries. This includes studying nutrient deficiencies related to poverty and infectious diseases, including vitamins A, B12, choline, and n-3 fatty acids.

She is founder and director of the E3 Nutrition Lab, and works to identify economically affordable, environmentally sustainable, and evolutionarily appropriate nutrition solutions globally. Research sites include Haiti, Ecuador, and Kenya, and involve teams of experts in nutrition, epidemiology, anthropology, and environmental health. In 2023, Iannotti was named the first Director for the Planetary Health and Environmental Justice at WashU’s new Center for the Environment.
