Margot Moinester, PhD

Professor Moinester’s research focuses on immigration, inequality and health. She studies how and why rates of immigration enforcement vary over time, between demographic groups, and across the elaborate jurisdictional landscape of the United States. She also examines specific health consequences of U.S. immigration enforcement practices and policies for first- and second-generation immigrants living in the United States. Professor Moinester employs a mixed-methods approach in her research, combining quantitative analysis of administrative, archival, survey, and census data with qualitative fieldwork in several U.S. states.
