Michael Lane, MD, MSc

Dr. Lane’s primary research focus is upon improving clinical outcomes and the safety and quality of care. He has experience using administrative data to study the risks of serious adverse events due to medication interactions. His current research projects focus on improving the care of patients with prosthetic joint infections by evaluating new molecular diagnostic assays. He is also studying the clinical outcomes of patients with prosthetic joint infections to better understand the optimal treatment strategies.

Dr. Lane’s second area of research is evaluating the clinical outcomes and safety of patients treated with outpatient parenteral antibiotic therapy. He is also engaged in research on physician peer support following adverse medical events.
