The goal of her research is to build evidence, develop, and test culturally-appropriate interventions in order to address risk factors associated with HIV/AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa.

Dr. Nabunya also serves as the Assistant Director of the Africa Initiative, an interdisciplinary endeavor aimed at enhancing Washington University and its impact in public health and human development programs on the African continent.
