Dr. Grucza’s research is focused on policy influences on substance abuse, mental health and health behaviors.

He is interested in three main areas:

  • The long-term effects of youth-access policies for alcohol and tobacco
  • The mental health impact of alcohol, tobacco and marijuana use
  • Understanding policy effects on behavioral health disparities, particularly whether policies that improve economic situations for the working poor lead to improved health behaviors, and if these might lead to a narrowing of health disparities
