Sojung Park, PhD

Associate Professor, Brown School

Dr. Park’s main research questions center around the role of environment for successful aging in place. Guided by the Person-Environment (P-E) perspective, her overall research interest is the examination of factors and mechanisms associated with issues of aging-in-place among older adults. She is interested in uncovering ways to identify individuals who are aging-in-place and may be at risk for lack of well-being, including unnecessary repeated hospitalization, emergency care uses, nursing home institutionalization, and mortality. She is also interested in multi-level and multi-dimensional environmental context involving home and housing, neighborhood and community, and ultimately local and central government policy.
