Dr. Stark conducts clinical, translational research to promote successful aging in place at home, and prevent falls. She promotes the participation of older adults with functional limitations through the provision of intensive, tailored environmental interventions that are designed to enhance the performance of daily activities.

She also conducts community-based clinical trials, and focuses on the implementation of evidence into clinical practice. She is interested in the unique contribution that the environment can make toward improving the performance, participation, and quality of life for older adults living with functional limitations.
