Todd B. Combs, MA, PhD

Research Assistant Professor, Brown School

Dr. Combs’ research focuses on prevention policy interventions that affect health behaviors and the built environment and the relationship between the two. His work includes research in tobacco retailer density in communities and its relationship to tobacco use and related health disparities. He finds that implementation science and systems science approaches are among the most appropriate strategies to address these problems, and, studying the impact of the built environment and policy on health easily translates to other areas of prevention, like healthy food access and eating, physical activity, and diabetes prevention.
