Dr. Kaskutas has focused her career on helping individuals with health conditions and disabilities remain working members of society, and promoting the safety and health of the working population.

Construction worker safety and health has been the focus of several of her recent projects. She has worked on training new carpenters in fall prevention, improving worksite safety through construction manager safety communication and fall prevention training, evaluating the utility of new technologies to protect residential construction workers from falls, and promoting transfer of these new technologies to construction professionals across the country through the website Falls Protection Resource for New Home Construction.

Dr. Kaskutas is researching the effects of surgery on ability to work, aimed at helping people maintain meaningful work roles while recovering from a broad range of surgical procedures.
