On Friday, June 5, hundreds of health care professionals from Washington University School of Medicine, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and Saint Louis University Hospital and Medical School filled the sidewalks of Kingshighway Boulevard, to demonstrate in support of Black Lives Matter. Doctors, nurses, pharmacists and technicians, motivated by events in Minneapolis in which George Floyd died in police custody, held a silent protest for 8 minutes and 46 seconds. The demonstration was simultaneously replicated in cities across the nation. Read the School of Medicine story.
