Alice Emasu Seruyange, MSW ’10, will share her story from idea conception and motivation through consensus development for holistic obstetric fistula care in Uganda. Her talk will include key learnings from establishing and operating Terrewode Women’s Community Hospital, the only dedicated fistula hospital in Uganda, as well as Terrewode’s fistula treatment camps. Alice will forecast priorities for the future, including strategies for building local capacity. This program is part of Washington University’s Africa Speaks series, presented in partnership with The Africa Initiative.
