Dr. Ling is interested in exploring opportunities at combating hospital-acquired infections, community-acquired infections and antimicrobial resistance. With her research, Dr. Ling seeks to uncover the rules underlying the diversity and structure of complex bacterial communities and populations, and translate those basic science findings into clinics. Ultimately, she aspires to devise new, ecologically-aware designs of hospital and home environments that are beneficial to the health of their inhabitants.
