She is the director of the Center for Violence and Injury Prevention at the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis. Her research interests include understanding how services, resources and policy may influence outcomes for children with histories of maltreatment, looking for promising opportunities to alter services and policy to positively impact later adolescent and young adult outcomes. She also works in the prevention of maltreatment among vulnerable populations with an emphasis on home visitation programs.
Dr. Jonson-Reid collaborates across disciplines and is tied closely to a number of agencies at the local, regional and state levels. Her research has included evaluation, the use of large scale administrative data linked across multiple systems, and applied services innovation research with community agencies.
