Dr. Payne’s current public health relevant research, practice, advocacy, and teaching activities are broadly related to the following areas: interventional approaches to the use of electronic health records in order to address modifiable risk factors for disease and enable patient-centered decision making; the study of human factors and workflow issues surrounding the optimal use of healthcare information technology; and the design and evaluation of open-science platforms that enable collaborative and cumulative approached to biomedical data analytics.
