Local non-profit professionals awarded Summer Institute Course Scholarships

The Center for Community Health Partnership & Research has awarded ten scholarships to individuals employed by local nonprofit and governmental organizations. The funding will enable staff to attend week-long professional development courses offered through the Brown School Summer Institute at Washington University in St. Louis.

The scholarships support intensive learning for five consecutive days.  Attendees can build new skills in areas like group facilitation, collaboration, donor solicitation, management, and data visualization. The center received nearly 60 applications.

Individuals from the following organizations received scholarships:

The SoulFisher Ministries, Youth In Need, VOYCE, Bilingual International Assistant Services, Power4STL, St. Louis County Department of Health, Arthur R Johnson Community Outreach, Food Outreach, Missouri Office of Refugee Administration, and St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness.

The annual application period for the Summer Institute scholarship occurs in late winter.  In addition to individual scholarship support, the center offers technical assistance support to organizations through the Capacity Building Fund. Stay up to date on center news, opportunities and events.
