Articles concerning the 2020 study by the Institute for Public Health and the St. Louis County Department of Public Health, are published by PubMed, a publication of the National Institutes of Health, and in the Elsevier journal, ScienceDirect.

The collaborative study involved a survey of St. Louis County residents between August 17 and October 24, 2020, and an offer of free PCR tests. The survey found that at least one out of every 100 St. Louis County adult residents had an active COVID-19 infection earlier that fall, while about five out of every 100 adults had contracted the disease at some earlier point, according to test results.
